Goodbye Japan Tour ~ Part two ~ Nagasawa Exploration

So, there's this place the kids and I have passed dozens of times in the last five years. As we slid through Nagasawa Station on our way to Junko's house or Flower World or the Yokosuka Bicycle Park, Miura Kaigon and Misakiguchi sakura viewing, or to Koajiro Forest to see frog eggs, we would see this statue on a hill in the distance and the kids always said....We should go there! Well, last week, we did it! (Some of these pics have been in the blog before because I hiked here with a girlfriend a few years ago)

The view from the train station

On our walk to the hill we passed this house and Mackenzie said: those people must have an amazing life because they have a big yard!!

The kids really loved the shape of this building. It's right outside the entrance to the walk up to this hill.

A few cool statues as we started out journey up like 40 flights of stairs.

The views were amazing! Especially after a few weeks of rain.

Just before we arrived at the top (and Mackenzie was questioning whether we went the right way) we found this area filled with spikey dangerous tree nuts. Garytt tried desperately to pick one up, but each one made him jerk his hands away in pain.

Finally....We see the top!!

Some of our favorite 7-11 foods we love for lunch, under a pagoda. We 💜 Japan.

Garytt said this pagoda was smaller than he thought.

Grumpy face

After lunch and a look at all the statues we made our way around to the big statue we can see from the train.

He wanted a shot of him holding the statue up :)

Riding the train without sharing a seat with me

And, how can I say no when Boy says: but this might be the last time we can have yakitori!!!!!!!! So, of course we stop at our favorite meat-on-a-stick place on some back alley on a side street by the train station. 😆
